The Many Faces Of Sigourney Weaver

Sigourney Weaver may have dug herself something of a niche, with a reputation for appearing in sci-fi – thanks Alien franchise, she now collects a paycheck for making cameo roles or even a voice-over or two in sci-fi or sci-fi(ish) movies, Wall-e, Cabin In The Woods, Paul, Vamps and Chappie to name a few.

But Weaver has two faces that she uses often, the first one is a look of absolute disgust. She hates you, she hates your friends, she hates what you are doing, the way you dress. Everything. And she is not afraid to show it.

The other face I’ll call inappropriate sexification. I’m not sure if this is deliberate or unintentional on her part but Sigourney Weaver is often in situations that really don’t need sexiness being a factor for that particular scene , but Weaver some how does this anyway … you’ll know what I mean when you see it.

We’ll start with disgust.

She is disgusted (in stereo) in Copycat, she hates the outdoors as much as she hates Harry Connick Jrs ginger hair.

In Ghostbusters she is only pretending to like Bill Murray really she thinks his jokes are terrible.

In Alien, she is disgusted at the low level lighting.

Both Sigourney and Newt are disgusted by the Marines, the Aliens, just life in general by this point.

In Alien 3, she is disgusted to be there as much as we are too watch. And so is everyone else.

She really doesn’t like rock monsters in Galaxy Quest.

Wagging a finger at Hugh Jackman in Chappie (it’s about the mullet obviously)

What about inappropriate sexification?

She looks fully of bitchy sexy charm (until she tries to walk in those ski boots) in Working Girl but why?

Who knew that midair push ups could be so seductive in Ghostbusters?

Like a sleeping angel (but she is totally faking it) in Alien.

Everybody loves a dramatic scene in the rain but Weaver is giving off shampoo commercial vibes too.

It’s the hat. It is always a captain hat. Why do you think Hugh Hefner wears one?

She might be 8ft tall and blue but she knows how to work that tail in Avatar.

There are rare occasions when we get both, disgust and inappropriate sexification mixed together.

Wearing a hoodie like nobody else and at the same time being angry at someone, she was emo before it was called emo.
And the ultimate convergence of disgusted face and inappropriate sexification is Aliens, she hates that gun but he loves the way she holds it.
